The artist’s highly regarded “Painting the Impressionist Landscape” workshops have trained hundreds of students to embrace “plein air” painting and the Impressionist approach to the landscape. Students are encouraged to paint outdoors in all types of light and weather conditions. The workshops follow an approach pioneered at the famous Cape Cod School in Provincetown, Massachusetts that provides a road map to painting with glorious color and light. The Cape Cod School traces its beginning to such luminary painters as William Merrit Chase, Charles Hawthorne and Henry Henche.
Workshops are traditionally held in the Spring and Fall on the grounds of the artist’s studio or in other areas as the opportunity arises.
Painting the Impressionist Landscape
This spring, Ty will be conducting 2 workshops.
Workshop I will meet Thursdays (10-1) starting May 11th. Workshop II will meet Saturdays (10-1) starting May 13th. Both workshops will run 7 weeks and be followed by a student exhibition and reception at the gallery. Tuition for the entire series is only $290, reflecting Ty’s desire to keep the classes affordable for local students. Similar classes conducted by the artist at other venues usually cost upward to $700. Registration is by phone (609-397-0452) or by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
